Silva Bay Shipyard School. Silva Bay in the sunshine. Sweet! Nanaimo to Silva Bay.

We played with the current in Dodd Narrows and made our way to Silva Bay for lunch. If yer in the neighborhood....don't miss Silva Bay. From Nanaimo 20.3 miles taking 1:20 hours at 15 knots.

Full sails. BIG BC Ferry in Active Pass. A picturesque lighthouse at Georgina Point. Reef Harbor and Tumbo Island.

Cabbage Island, it may as well be the Carribean.

Cabbage Island Provincial Marine Park. Cabbage Island 1. Cabbage Island 2.

Cabbage Island 3.

Silva Bay to Cabbage Island.

The second leg of day 4 runs between Silva Bay and Cabbage Island, through Active Pass. We ran beside lots of wonderful little islands and looked at Conover Cove on Wallace Island as a potential place to overnight and explore in the future.

If you like the Carribean, you'll love Cabbage Island. On a warm summer day....you're there.

Day 4 leg 2 shows 46.2 miles taking 3:27 hours at an average of 13 knots.

Patos Island Lighthouse on Alden Point. Patos Island Lighthouse under repair. U.S.C.G. Light Station Patos Island....the view from Active Cove.

There is a narrow channel between Patos Island and Little Patos Island with a couple of mooring bouys.

At the eastern end, the channel gets shallow and narrow. Once through the channel and the little kelp bed marking its end, this is the view you will have over the stern. Cabbage Island to Anacortes.

Not all who wander are lost.

J.R.R. Tolkein

That completes the third and final leg of day 4....and so the voyage ends with a wave to the Customs officials at Cap Sante. Great memories, fun times and a few pics to chronicle the adventure. ..................I cant' help it.......maybe it's the viking in me, but I want more adventures like this one....very soon....like right away!! Ya sure ya betcha.

"And what does the ship's log say" you ask? Cabbage Island to Anacortes 36.4 miles taking 2:49 hours averaging 13 knots.

And the grand total comes to 395.7 miles consuming 161 gallons of diesel with a running time of 23:38 hours giving a burn rate of roughly 7 gallons/hour or about 2.5 miles/gallon. Most of our cruising was done between 24 and 28 knots, but the lesser averages indicate some time spent poking around the harbors and exploring 'less travelled' places.

Here's hoping y'all get the chance to do some exploring, too.
